End of Year Celebration: Bollywood Nights
Our IT client was looking to organise an end of year celebration in Sydney CBD for 300 of their staff and partners. The night needed to incorporate formalities, including a speech from the Managing Director and an awards ceremony, as well as be a night of celebration and a reward for staff.

Forum Group Events & Marketing came up with the theme of ‘Bollywood nights’. Vibrant, colourful and exciting, this theme represented the high paced nature of Information Technology and it’s influences throughout the world. The event was held at Doltone House on a beautiful summers night. Arrival drinks were held on the balcony overlooking the harbour. Guests were greeted by staff and presented with traditional bhindi’s. A henna artist was stationed on the balcony and painted the hands of guests. The dress code was Bollywood attire, but for those who were not so adventurous, the bhindi’s and henna was a great way for them to be involved in the theme.
After enjoying a few champagnes and pre-dinner canapes, the doors to the main dining area opened with the loud and exciting beats of the mainstream Bollywood track ‘Jai Ho’! Cost effective yet impactful theming was created through the use of brightly coloured, sheer fabric drapes on the venue ceiling, with coloured lighting and AV effects. Bollywood YouTube videos were played on the big screen; the result, a Bollywood playground of energy, sound and colour. Tables were adorned with candles and incense (all purchased from the local discount store). Bollywood dancers emerged from the shadows and took to the floor for an energetic performance. Our MC, Glenn Wheeler from Channel 7’s the morning show, who was dressed in traditional Bollywood attire, then took to the stage and hosted the formalities for the night. A Bollywood fashion show, limbo and dancing to the beats of the DJ towards the end of the night all created the vibrant and enjoyable celebration that was desired.
